8-8-24 THOUGHTS
I promise that there will be repetition in these morning posts. At least in the verses chosen. Some passage areas are so powerful that we need continual exposure to them. 2Pet 1:12 “Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you [already] know [them,] and have been established in the truth which is present with [you.]” This morning we view the Incomparable, Preeminent Christ! This is “Good News” in a nutshell. The first of the reading sets the eternal, all-powerful deity nature of Christ. The second shows how we have benefitted from what He has done! No wonder He has First Place in Everything!
Col 1:12-20 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. 13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
My Prayer:
with our all, O God, we thank You for Your love in Christ Jesus. Your Spirit words are so powerful as we place them deep in our hearts. May they reside in our deepest parts forever with all power, as they motivate our lives toward heaven and You. May the daily affairs of our comfort lives pale in comparison with these words of life. Help us to pursue end things, and not the trivial temporary. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
